The inspiration: I moved to Santa Fe from the coast of Maine. In Maine there are trees blocking the sky nearly everywhere. If you want to watch the sunset you must drive to a particular location. Consequently you don’t see a sunset often. In New Mexico it’s big sky country and all you need to do is look west. This sunset drawing I call mauve sunset and it was inspired by the many mauve, plum, lavender hues we see in the evening here.
