Here’s my Apricot Globe Mallow design for part 1 of my June Collection. This scarf is for orange and periwinkle blue lovers. Its vibrant orange flowers have centers sporting brassy green/yellow stars with coral and burgundy stamens. The background is a soft periwinkle blue and the overall effect is pretty and colorful.Done in a soft, slightly sheer Mulayam Cotton with 1/8” machine stitched rolled hems, approximately 34” square. Fabric printed in the UK, drawings and stitching done by myself.
The inspiration: Apricot Globe Mallows are native to the arid American Southwest. They draw the eye as you look across the pastel yellow and sage green hues of our New Mexico landscape. I’ve given them a periwinkle blue sky background as the orange of these flowers and the blue of the sky around them are equally bold.
