The inspiration: Above Santa Fe there is a large grove of Quaking Aspen. It grows across the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the shape of a giant heart. 💛 In the spring we watch for the first discernment of light green and then the same again for the Aspen gold in the Autumn. I love the Windsor trail, just below the ski basin, which is a cross country ski trail in winter. But after the snow melts you are allowed to hike it. It is lush with plants that don’t grow on the arid step below and you journey through the Aspens with the wonderful color and sound of the quaking leaves in the breeze.
