The inspiration: If you move to the Southwest and find yourself missing the trees and lush verdant green growth. The solution is simple, venture up into the mountains. In Alaska the tree line refers to where the trees stop growing as elevation climbs into the cold. But here in the Southwest it refers to where the trees begin as the rainfall drawn by the mountains creates environments where plants I recall from other places can thrive. Along the Windsor trail, just below the ski slopes outside of Santa Fe, you will see ferns, violets, dandelions, bedstraw, wild strawberries and so much more. The trail skirts the top of the Quaking Aspen grove and the breeze in the leaves makes that wonderful fluttering sound.
