The inspiration: When I was little we lived far away from our extended family. My Meme came to visit and we took her to see a big flight of balloons. She took many pictures and brought them home to show her mother, my big Meme. She made and sent me a throw pillow with appliqué hot air balloons and a ruffle around the edge. I treasured it all my childhood. It radiated love for me from my Memes. Now I live in New Mexico where there is a thriving hot air balloon culture. I’ve taken many pictures and added these balloons to my collection.
